Important Announcement / Posted on 22 Jun

Please see the Dojo post from Mrs Young for further information. Essentially, parents have the option to collect children at 1.00 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme weather.

"There is now a red weather alert in place, with temperatures forecast to reach 40°C on Wednesday and Thursday and 37°C tomorrow. With this in mind, we are offering the option of a soft closure on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to go home and stay cool indoors. We would not expect children to remain in the park if they are collected early.

This means that families who wish to collect their children early can do so at 1pm on these days. You can collect from the front office between 1pm and 1:30pm.
Children who normally walk home from school at 3pm will be able to continue with this arrangement as usual. However, children who are collected early must be picked up by an adult, as outlined above.

Children who are collected early will not be recorded as absent. We will keep an accurate record of who is in the building for our risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
As you can imagine, the weather is outside of our control, so we will continue to respond as we receive further information and updates. We will also be adapting the menu to make it more "heat friendly".

Thank you for working with us and supporting the decisions we are making. Please be assured that all staff and I are working hard to keep the school open and ensure it remains a safe and comfortable place for all children."
