Key Information
Mrs Wright is the class teacher, and is in class every day.
Mrs Sawyer covers PPA on a Monday afternoon.
Miss Golder is the class teaching assistant, and is in class Tues-Friday.
Mrs Coulson is the class teaching assistant on Mondays.
Our PE day is Friday. PE is taught outside this term.
At break time each child is provided with a piece of tuck (usually a choice of biscuit, yoghurt, cheese) and a piece of fruit. If you wish, children can buy an additional 3rd piece of snack for 30p.
Please ensure all children have 1 set (minimum) of spare clothes in case of toileting accidents or wet playtimes, as well as a plastic bag to store soiled items.
Term 2 Learning
Writing - Our book is "Stick man" and "The Turnip Thief". We will be developing our sentence writing, including using "-ing" and exploring some poetry styles.
Maths - Addition and Subtraction within 10.
Science - Material names and properties
History/Geography - The Seasons and the changes
Art - Levers and Sliders mechanisms to create a moving picture scene.
Computing - Creating digital art
PSHE - Celebrating differences and similarities with others in the class
RE - The Christmas Story
Music - Singing - Learning the songs for the Nativity
Term 1 Learning
Writing - Our book was "The Enormous Turnip" and we focussed on the fundamental skills of writing, including finger spaces, capital letters, full stops and correct formation. We began to use "and" to extend our ideas.
Maths - Place Value to 10, including comparing numbers, using a number line and the symbols < > and =
Science - The Human Body, we learnt about our body parts and senses.
History/Geography - The history of us and our families.
Art - Self portraits in poster paint, water colours and clay
Computing - Using the track pad and keyboard for control while using the Paintz website.
PSHE - Understanding class rules and sanctions and how to keep the class happy and safe.
RE - Different beliefs about the Creation Story
Music - Singing and changing our voices.
