Golden rules and expectations throughout Year 6!

1) Please try and read with your child or discuss their book every night as this will support the progress being made in school. Please ensure that their reading record is signed and brought into school with them. Parents, when your child reads to you or finishes reading independently, could you try to ask them questions about the book. It is important that your child is developing their reading comprehension alongside their reading ability. Please encourage your child to read the book more than once if possible as this will allow them to gain a stronger understanding. Once they have completed their book, they will then be allowed to take an online quiz that will support your child's progress.

2) PE kit...Children must have their PE kit on the allocated days (Monday and Friday). They must bring in their kit to allow them to fully participate within the lesson.

3) Homework; any work that is brought home needs to be completed as best as they can and brought in by the allocated day.

4) Please practise your spellings (set as homework) and times tables at home. It is important that you try to learn this as quickly as you can as they will support you in various areas of your future work!

Please feel free to do any additional work at home. You can then bring this work into school and it can displayed within the classroom.
