Welcome to Hummingbirds, in our class we aim to be Independent, Resilient and Confident learners. We aim to be caring and supportive of one another and to always try our best in every piece of work we do!

It is important that children come into school in their correct uniform every day. Children should have black school shoes and not trainers.
PE: Our PE day is on Friday and we are currently coming into school in our PE kits. Kit should be a plain white t-shirt, navy or black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. Children can also wear a plain hoodie or a school jumper.
Homework: Children need to ensure that they are reading daily  and recording this in their reading records. The topic homework grid will have ideas for children to select  from to complete in order to earn house points.

Alongside children working hard to achieve dojo points for their positive behaviour and attitudes towards learning, children are also able to earn house points. These house points are awarded for outstanding work! They are accumulated throughout the year and the children are able to earn Bronze, Silver and Gold badges. Each child in the school is within a house and the totals are shared within children throughout the year to encourage them to work within their team to achieve more.

Children have their own logins and are expected to complete work that will be set on there and to hand it all in at the end of the day so that the teacher is able to mark it

Term 5 

This term we will be studying the Ancient Mayans in History, Sikh worship in RE and the construction of a birdhouse in DT. In Science we will be learning about how the movement of the Earth affects day and night and the changing of the seasons. In PSHE we will discussing relationships and in French we will learn about school and the subjects taught.
